Duties
- Explain objectives of the Directorate General of Prisons (DGP) through researches, seminars, lectures and exhibitions.
- Publish a monthly periodical about the Directorate General of Prisons.
- Prepare scientific studies of phenomena in prisons and studying methods of developing performance of the Prisons' staff.
- Communicate religious and ethical knowledge to prisoners through the well-designed programs.
- Teach prisoners how to read, write and encourage them to continue their education.
- Help ex-convicts find the right jobs that suit their potentials.
- Pay attention to vocational training: prepare training programs and courses in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
- Liaise with governmental authorities and non-governmental parties to provide social and psychological care for prisoners.
- Handle prisoner's affairs: imprisonment, release and amnesty.
- Work on the comprehensive development of the DGP.
- Take care of the infrastructure of the DGP and its facilities.
