Najran is one of the thirteen regions in Saudi Arabia, located in the southwest of the country at the Yemeni border.
The region covers 360000 km² of area with a population estimated to 620000 peoples. It capital is Najran city.
The region is famous for agriculture, with lots of date trees grown there. The Groove (Al-Okhdood) area, which has been mentioned in the Noble Qur'an in Surat Al-Burooj, is one of the richest archaeological areas in the region. It contains writings and inscriptions on the stones dated to more than 1750 years back.
